About Me

Welcome to my homepage and blog!

My name is Patrick W. Marsh, and I’m the author of the self-published novel Beware the Ills and the book series the Greenland Diaries. I’ve also released four short story anthologies. I have studied creative writing at three different colleges, been blogging for a decade, and been traditionally published in a variety of literary magazines. I’m also a screenwriter, having written two films for the 48 Hour Film Project. In 2019 my movie “The Chair” won best film and will represent Minneapolis in the Netherlands. I’m a father of four boys. My wife is a photographer and plant enthusiast. We have a dog, about twenty fish, and a very lively Albino African Claw-Toed Frog.

My books are dark fantasy, science fiction, and horror. Some stories are told straight from me, well other times I enjoy playing with perspective. Stories with monsters have always been the most interesting to me. They could be a shadow hanging on a streetlight in a plant-warped apocalypse. They could be a lonely killer on a cursed island powered by a phantom force. They could be a god-like demon locked in deep space counting constellations. Monsters are what mainly interest me as a writer, artist, and storyteller. In my books and through my stories, I build monsters to understand what it is to be human. This has sort of captivated my early career, but I’m starting to branch out into nonfiction and other genres. I really just enjoy telling stories.
