Random Update 2/18

Been a week off. Didn’t really have anything to write about. Been realigning some projects I’ve been working on. I’ve been thinking a lot about what direction to go as a writer. This has been a consistent theme on my blog for years. I’ve never really had an answer to any of it, but I was listening to a podcast called Smartless which I really enjoy depending upon the guests, and the hosts on there talked about a mistake young creators often make is fleeing from the thing that made them get noticed.

For me, in the framing of this fragmented diatribe, this would be the Greenland Diaries. This is my most popular story. I have legit fans of that series, but I still sort of run from it by pursuing other projects. I guess I’m a master of self-sabotage. Well, I’m reinvesting in it so to speak, and I don’t have time to write the fifth book in the Greenland Diaries this year, or a place to sell it, so I’ve decided to release my other short story collection from that universe in the fall. If you preordered the Eye in the Lace about a year or so ago, you’ll be getting a free copy of this collection. Stay tuned.

Also, on the Greenland Diaries front, I am happy to announce that hopefully within the next year, book one will be released as an audiobook. The wheels are turning slowly on this one as well, but things are moving. This narration lends itself really well to this format. I know people will enjoy listening to it.

Hidden Oaks is back into full writing mode. In fact, we added a new bonus short this week. We’ll be doing a bunch of these ones as time goes on. It is a bit of an appetizer. They aren’t meant to fill you up, but wanting more. Listen to it where all fine pods are cast (Apple, Stitcher, iHeart Radio).

My depression skyrocketed about a week ago. It was brutal. I didn’t think it would ever calm down. I could sort of feel it inside my mind though, like I was slowly descending into a pit, then climbing out of it. I hope you’re all staying healthy and doing well. Have a good rest of the week. Thank you for reading.
